This is I, my life's work of art. Amidst the gazillion people on this small planet called Earth, I am one little speck hidden amongst the crowd of artists. My name is Janice Wong and a high school graduate from the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. Inhabiting in this tightly packed urban society, a place I call home, I have been exposed to multi-cultures and experienced many things I believed impossible. Things revolve and change around me as I change and adjust alongside through time; it is whom I am inside out that counts, not someone perceived by others.
“There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.” – Pablo Picasso
As a 20-year-old artist of many talents, my interests and hobbies lie towards the design field where creativity and imagination can be boundless. I am a girl who is dedicated to art and design including the aspects of photography, traditional drawing, digital design, video production, interior design, and sculpturing. In general, my personality and characteristics can be defined using three words: optimistic, friendly, and responsible. You can say I am constantly cheerful, happy, and laugh at almost anything – a person of ease and relaxation, a person that considers the bright side even at the worst moments in life.
As an individual pursuing a career in marketing and advertising, my inspirations come from elements that revolve around me: the environment, the people, the objects, the situations. Sometimes sitting by myself and gazing towards the sunlight can give me calm and peacefulness, and during those moments I would always ponder about what is life, goals, and the things I want to do in the future. I am always proud of myself in different manners. The way I always stay smiling, ability to easily meet friends, to creating artworks for others and the community, and to share a piece of my heart through creativity and visions.
Fine arts would only be an interest. I would soon enter the stage of life where I meet new friends, start a career and enter the business world. But I will change, everyone will change. What is really waiting for us in the future? Nobody knows for sure :)
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once [she] grows up.” – Pablo Picasso
